4-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campell talks Clemson offer

In this story:
Clemson has been the hottest team in the country on the recruiting trail recently. In the past week, the Tigers have landed three top-150 players in the 2024 class, including 5-stars Sammy Brown and Bryant Wesco. Dabo Swinney and his staff have also been busy laying the groundwork for their 2025 class.
Over the past couple of weeks, Clemson has handed out over twenty scholarship offers to players entering their junior years of high school. One of those prospects, 4-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell out of Green Central in North Carolina, caught up with SI.com to discuss the offer. The 6-foot-5 16-year-old is amped up about the offer.
"I'm super excited. Clemson, honestly. I'm super excited," said Campbell. "I went down there for an underclassmen event, and you know, it was amazing down there at Clemson. I was like, 'Man, it's super nice down there'. And you know, as one of my goals I'm trying to be better at trying to get better. I'm trying to be one of the best in my class. I think that the Clemson offer, it was like a glimpse. [Clemson] only offers the people that they feel are a good fit for their program or are great football players... I feel like they think I'm one of the top in the class."
One of Campbell's primary recruiters from Clemson will undoubtedly be Defensive Tackles coach and Defensive Run Game Coordinator Nick Eason. Clemson has a history of seeing defensive linemen go early in the NFL Draft, and Eason has carried on that tradition since joining the team prior to the 2022 season.
"I love Coach Eason, man. Coach Eason is a coach that is relationship based... He's not just recruiting. You get to know him, you know, and just what I've seen from and heard from him. I've just heard great things about Coach Eason and how coach Eason and his players have a great relationship. About how they're good people on the field and off the field. How they're academically ready. And also, on the football field, how they got some dogs out there to get after it. And Coach Eason is really a coach that can help me get to the league and also be a great man as well." said Campbell.
At 6-foot-5 265 pounds, Campbell has a lot of growing left to do. Again, the dynamic lineman is just about to begin his junior season. So where does he see himself playing at the next level? Wherever a team needs him.
"I see myself playing all the way to a three tech to the five because I'm a versatile player. I believe I have a great get-off. As a five tech, I'm rushing off the end and I can hold a good gap. I can be a strong side d-end too. And I feel like my game is so versatile, where I can be in different sets, and I'm just not bound to one. I'm able to be versatile in my gameplay."
Campbell holds offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, North Carolina, and NC State among others. Perhaps his most impressive stat line: a 4.17 GPA.
