Clemson finally seemed to find a stride on offense during last Saturday's 66-17 drubbing of Charleston Southern. The Tigers racked up 679 yards of offense and 37 first downs in the win. New offensive coordinator Garrett Riley is still figuring out how all the pieces fit, but Clemson head Coach Dabo Swinney has plenty of faith in his you play-caller.

"I mean, he's a very even-keeled guy," said Swinney. "You know, he has fun he keeps it loose... We call him G money. He's just a great guy. I mean, he doesn't walk around like he's got all the answers or anything like that. He wants collaboration. He asks a lot of questions. He loves input. You know, I love sitting in the quarterback meetings with him. It's like we're sitting around in Melrose Place or something, you know, it's just this chill environment. He's not a high-strung guy, you know? So that's just kind of who he is. He played quarterback. And he loves what he does. I mean, he loves it. He loves ball and he understands the good and the bad that comes with it. He likes to teach."

Swinney spoke about how Riley compares to the Clemson OCs of old. Chad Morris was incredibly aggressive, while now Virginia coach Tony Elliot was much more locked in on avoiding mistakes and being prepared. Per Dabo Swinney, Riley is a little more relaxed when it comes to his approach.

"G money, he's a little more of a free spirit. 'That didn't work. Next play. You know what? I would try that again, that wasn't good.' and I love that about him. He's got a good understanding of it. We think a lot alike, you know, it's matchups. I mean, it's matchups. Let's get the best players the ball. He's done a nice job of that to this point."

Riley and his offense will face a challenge on Saturday night when FAU comes to town. The Tigers have one week to prepare for a season-defining game against No. 3 Florida State.
