Clemson Recruiting: Where Do the Tigers Currently Stand?

The next few months will be crucial in the recruiting world. Clemson has put together a strong foundation for the 2024 class already.

Spring practices have begun, and spring games are right around the corner. The stretch starting with the spring game and going all the way through late summer has become the most impactful recruiting period of the year. Due to the early signing period - along with the fact that high school kids just have more time during the summer - more official visits take place during these months, which leads to more commitments happening before most top prospects' senior seasons even start.

With that being said, where does Clemson's recruiting stand right now? The Tigers currently sit 10th in 247Sports Composite Ranking with 6 commitments and a very respectable average rating of 92.28 per commit. Every single one of these future Tigers, with the exception of their incoming kicker, is rated as a 4-star in the current composite rankings.

The class kicked off in late November when cornerback Tavoy Feagin committed on the 20th. Coming out of Carrollwood Day in Tampa, Florida Feagin has seen his stock rise as of late with the latest 247 rankings moving Feagin as high as 132 overall and the 15th-ranked corner in the country.

Nolan Houser, a kicker out of Cornelius, North Carolina, was the next to join 8 days later. With BT Potter gone, and current punter Aidan Swanson likely to leave after this season, more depth was certainly needed.

David Eziomume (North Cobb High School - GA) is Clemson's most recent commit.

December went by without any news until, as it currently stands, the jewel of the class Christian Betancur came on board. The tight end out of Woodstock, Illinois is ranked in the composite as the 5th best tight end in the country but 247 themselves recently moved him up to the #2 spot for his position and a top-50 player overall.

Two more defensive commitments came at the end of January, both out of the state of Georgia. Both 4-star defensive lineman Champ Thompson and 4-star safety Noah Dixon committed to the Tigers. Clemson has had success in the past with defensive players out of the Peach State and they're going back to the well here.

Finally, we have our most recent commitment in 4-star running back David Eziomume. David hails from Kennesaw, Georgia, and will be a player Clemson most likely needs next year as the decisions of juniors Will Shipley and Phil Mafah could leave the running backs room pretty light in 2024.

It's a solid start for Dabo Swinney and this Tigers recruiting staff, but there will be a bevy of new players to talk about soon, especially if Clemson wants to remain near the top of the national title conversation where they've been for so long.
