"It is DLU" Hevin Brown-Shuler Shares Thoughts on Clemson

Hevin Brown-Shuler is one of Clemson's biggest targets in the 2024 class. He shared why the Tigers are one of his top teams.

Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia is known for producing talent on the line of scrimmage. Over the past decade, the school has sent two linemen - Andrew Thomas and Jamaree Salyer - to the University of Georgia and eventually the NFL. The Knights now have another elite player on the line of scrimmage, but this one plays on the defensive side of the ball.

Hevin Brown-Shuler, the No. 12 defensive line prospect in the country per 247Sports, is one to watch for Clemson. The 6-foot-4, nearly 300-pound Brown-Shuler is nearing a commitment date, and he has the Tigers high upon a list that includes offers from Georgia, Michigan, and Colorado. We had a chance to catch up with him in Atlanta at the Hot List Camp and got his thoughts on Clemson.

“Definitely high on my list,” said Brown-Shuler. “They have everything that a kid could want, as for as football-wise and academic-wise. [Clemson] is DLU if you think about it. You got guys like Dexter Lawrence who came out of there, Bryan Bresee, [Myles] Murphy, who’s coming out now. Then you got to look at the guys coming in. You got Peter Woods and Vic Burley. It’d be crazy to be a part of that group.”

The Tigers rely heavily on recruiting talent away from Georgia. Trevor Lawrence, Myles Murphy, Barrett Carter, and AJ Terrell are just a few examples. Just this past year, Clemson was able to lure Vic Burley away from Warner Robins, Georgia. For Hevin Brown-Shuler, the distance from Atlanta to Clemson isn’t an issue.

“It’s not that far. When you think about it… it’s right on the edge [of Georgia and South Carolina]. I can go to my mom’s house in an hour and forty-five minutes, that’s easy. A lot of Georgia guys go there, it shows you that [Clemson’s] just another home for a lot of Georgia guys, and it’s the title of “DLU”. You go there as a defensive lineman, you’re going to get drafted.”
