5-Star Receiver Praises Clemson While on Visit to Georgia

The timing of Mike Matthew's tweet raised some eyebrows while on a trip to Georgia.

You can never be 100% sure of what decisions a recruit is going to make. People who have been covering the recruiting game for decades still couldn't tell you why some kids make the decision they do and when they decide to make it. The decision by Mike Matthews, a 5-star receiver and huge Clemson target, to tweet about his official visit to Clemson during his current official visit to Georgia over the weekend is one decision that raised a few eyebrows.

Early Saturday afternoon Matthews tweeted, "Thank you Clemson Football for a memorable OV! I look back and I just appreciate the opportunity and your hospitality!" This was followed by a couple of hearts in orange and purple while also tagging the Clemson football account along with Coach Tyler Grisham, the wide receivers coach for the Tigers. He ended it with the hashtag "#gotigers". 

To reiterate the point stated above, no one can say for sure if the timing of this message from Matthews to Clemson was intentional. However, if it were, then it seems like Matthews choosing to look back on a previous visit to Clemson while on a visit to Georgia could lead people to believe there's certainly been an experience he's favored thus far.

The No. 10 overall recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings is going to draw a lot of eyes on just about everything he puts out concerning his recruitment and where it stands. There may be no meaning to any of this and Matthews could be having a blast at UGA but if this one does go Clemson's way in the end then this tweet would be one to look back on and remember.
