Clemson has had a pretty good run with quarterbacks out of the state of Georgia. Both Deshaun Watson (Gainesville, Ga) and Trevor Lawrence (Cartersville, Ga) led Clemson to two College Football National Championship Game appearances, winning one each. Now the Tigers are reportedly interested in another signal-caller from the Peach State.

Class of 2025 quarterback Antwann Hill is one of the fastest-rising players in the class of 2025. The 6-foot-5 Hill is currently ranked as a 4-star per 247Sports and is the No. 1 quarterback in Georgia for his class. As a sophomore, Hill led Houston County to a 10-3 record, including back-to-back road wins in the GHSA 6A State Playoffs (6A is Georgia’s second-largest classification). During the campaign, Hill threw for nearly 3,700 yards and 40 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions, while completing 70% of his throws. SI.com had a chance to catch up with Hill at the Pylon 7on7 event in Atlanta.

“I talked to coach [Robbie] Caldwell the other day,” said Hill. “He was talking to me about the culture up there at Clemson and how they do things… They want to get me up there on April 1st for their junior day, and just watch a couple of practices. Get in the meeting rooms, too. Just talk to them a little bit, get to know them more, and start building a relationship with all the coaches.”

Robbie Caldwell, who spent eleven seasons as the Tigers’ offensive line coach (2011-2022), is now the Director of High School Relations for Clemson. The Tigers haven’t offered Hill yet, but it’s still very early in his recruitment. If Hill does visit for Clemson’s junior day, the staff will be able to get a better feel for the fit. Currently, Hill plays in a system at Houston County (the home of former Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm) that is very similar to Tennessee’s wide-open attack. That would fit nicely with what Clemson offensive coordinator Garrett Riley is currently installing.
