Recruiting Update: Clemson looking to keep momentum in July

In this story:
Clemson was the big winner in recruiting during the month of June. The Tigers landed five recruits in June, including a pair of 5-stars, linebacker Sammy Brown and wide receiver Bryant Wesco. Clemson finished the month strong, landing 4-star safety Ricardo Jones on the 27th.
Entering July, the hope was for the momentum built in June to carry over, but as we near Independence Day, that recruiting momentum for the Tigers appears to have slowed way down.
The Tigers appear to be way out of the race in a majority of their remaining big-time recruiting battles. The only position group where Clemson seems to be making hay is the offensive line - we'll talk about them in a moment - but everywhere else, Clemson appears to be lagging behind.
The most recent example came when 5-star safety KJ Bolden (Buford - GA) announced his top remaining schools this past week. Clemson was considered a contender for Bolden by many insiders. When he announced his top-5 schools, Clemson wasn't even on the list.
A couple of other big-time Georgia prospects appear to trending away from Clemson as well. The battle for 5-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston (Buford - GA) appears to be coming down to Ohio State and Georgia. The Bulldogs got a big boost in their recruiting efforts for both Houston and Bolden when their 5-star quarterback commit Dylan Raiola transferred to the school last month. Over in Lilburn, Clemson is still making a big push for 5-star wide receiver Mike Matthews (Parkview - GA) but Tennessee is seeming more and more like the team to beat.
Around the country, corners Charles Lester III (Venice - FL) and Corian Gipson (Lancaster - TX) both appear to be leaning toward instate schools. FSU for Lester and Texas for Gipson.
As we mentioned before, if there is one position Clemson seems likely to add some talent soon it's the offensive line. The Tigers are the favorite to land a pair of 4-star linemen. Clemson is battling it out with Georgia for offensive tackle Fletcher Westphal (Tuscarora - VA) and is ahead of Tennessee in the race for offensive guard William Satterwhite (Archbishop Hoban - OH). Satterwhite is scheduled to make his decision on the 7th.
