Deion Sanders underwent emergency surgery to treat blood clots in each of his legs on Friday. While it's not clear the severity of Coach Prime's ongoing blood flow issues, the latest setback seems to be concerning.

"I went to the doctors the other day to check myself out and I have two clots in my leg. One in my right leg, one in my left leg in my thigh," Sanders said. "Now I have a procedure tomorrow to try and get those clots so I can have proper blood flow through the leg so I can fix the toes."

We asked Dr. Jesse Morse to weigh in on what Sanders is up against in his current health battle. The longtime sports medicine expert gave his perspective to BuffsBeat contributor and former NFL defensive back Nick Ferguson, and provided a better overview of what's going on with the NFL legend.

Dr. Morse is a sports medicine doctor practicing in Miami, Florida.
