Colorado Four-Star Recruit Andre Adams Turns Heads With Uncanny Stat

In this story:
The Colorado Buffaloes' 2027 recruiting class will draw more fan attention with the high school football season now starting.
The class that coach Deion Sanders and his staff have put together already drew intrigue with the four-star commits they've reeled in, including former South Carolina four-star pledge at wide receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray, plus CU's highest-ranked recruit, four-star tackle Li'Marcus Jones.
But a fellow four-star immediately turned heads by delivering one uncanny stat in his senior season debut: quarterback Andre Adams.
How Andre Adams Fared in Season Opener

Adams only threw the football 16 times in his season opener against Mount Juliet, hitting nine completions. He tallied 106 yards and completed 56.2 percent of his throws, according to MaxPreps. But that's not his astronomical stat attached to him.
He delivered this number that will surely please Sanders and offensive coordinator Brennan Marion: 248 rushing yards on the night per MaxPreps, helping spearhead the 20-7 Antioch romp.
Adams averaged an eye-popping 14.6 yards per carry, as he handled the football 17 times on keeper runs. He crossed the end zone once and executed a 46-yard scamper during the game.
This signals that Colorado has a true Marion-type passer coming on board next season in Boulder. Marion's "Go-Go" offense has thrived with dual-threats behind center. It dates back to Howard University when Caylin Newton ran the Buffaloes offense, including in the epic 43-40 Bison upset over UNLV when Howard entered as a massive 45-point underdog.
Adams showed his own electric wheels, including through a certain formation that'll draw more attention for Colorado fans.
Andre Adams Already Running Colorado Offense

Antioch happens to be running Marion's system.
And Adams pulled off one of his biggest runs of the evening with a sidecar running back formation to the right of him. Adams masterfully tucks the football in, fakes out the edge rusher, then turns up the jets for the long gain.

Adams even faked out two Mount Juliet defenders before forcing a third defender to catch up in his foot race. The quarterback eventually landed out of bounds, but ignited his crowd and teammates.
Die hard Colorado fans earn a new reason to follow Antioch closely this fall. Not just because Adams is controlling the offense behind center either. The Bears are running Marion's scheme, that's why. This gives Colorado fans a glimpse of how composed and explosive Adams looks when he's running variations of the Go-Go. Plus can help fuel new intrigue for the future behind center once Julian "JuJu" Lewis finishes out his collegiate career.
Andre Adams Already a Decorated Quarterback

Adams entered the season fresh off delivering 3,418 yards and tossing 25 touchdowns in his junior season. He tallied 855 rushing yards and 13 more scores too as a running threat.
Marion rose as one of his primary recruiters. With Adams operating the Go-Go as one likely reason the new Colorado play-caller became drawn to the 6-1 quarterback.
Now all that's left for Adams is to capture a state title in the Volunteer State to cap off an illustrious prep career. His 248-yard rushing night is already a tremendous start.
