Colorado's Travis Hunter responds to Deion Sanders "Love or Like" criticism

Buffaloes two-way star ready to ride with Coach Prime

Travis Hunter didn't have a problem with Deion Sanders calling out the Colorado Buffaloes after a historically bad loss vs. Stanford. The two-way star, who came back after suffering a lacerated liver, felt his coach's emotions and responded on his 12 Talks podcast on Monday.

“Stuff like that makes you get to second-guessing. Do you love this game or do you just like it? Do you like to play it because it’s fun? And I get what he said right there, man, Hunter said"

It's hard for Hunter to comprehend why anyone wouldn't take football seriously. The nation's former top recruit opted to join Sanders at Jackson State and then followed him to Colorado. He's arguably college football's best player and wants everyone of his teammates on his level. Hunter bottled up his frustration following the Buffaloes blown lead against Stanford, but he's ready to come back stronger.

"You got to love this game to go out there and put your body on the line every day. I love the game. I go out there and dominate every chance I get. It doesn’t matter if I’m rusty, ready to go. I’m going out there to play. Give it my best. A lot of players on the team love the game, but we have to show more.”

Hunter had 13 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns on Friday night. He also racked up five tackles on defense. Nobody is questioning his level of commitment for the Buffs.

As a whole, CU's defense was like a screen door in a submarine by allowing Stanford over 500 yards of total offense. It's was a horrific display but not the absolute worst in school history as some would suggest. Sanders and the Buffs have five games left in the 2023 season. They'll face No. 25 UCLA after the bye week, which will be another nationally televised matchup on ABC.
