Deion Sanders calls out the NCAA over Rose Bowl theft

Coach Prime want the college organization to take accountability for lack of security

Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders took what happened at the Rose Bowl this weekend as an opportunity to speak directly to the NCAA.

The Hall of Famer opened up his weekly press conference on Tuesday by addressing the theft incidents from Pasadena. He shared his concerns about the lack of insurance and protection from the players perspective.

"Our kids got robbed during the game last week. I think that's a travesty," Sanders said. "I would expect the NCAA to do something about that. These are college kids. I'm pretty sure they don't think about insurance at this point in their life."

He went on to say, "This is the Rose Bowl. They say the 'Granddaddy of them all', right? I'm sure Granddaddy has some money. Grandpa should have some money to give to these kids."

Sanders hammered the point home again and addressed the NCAA directly. He made it a bit personal in his tone as well. "I hope we can do something about that, NCAA. You do something about everything else. Do something about that. When it comes to doing something regarding the kids... NCAA, you do something about everything else... Do something about this one."

Coach Prime revealed that UCLA's locker room was robbed during the game as well. He also said he didn't have anything personally taken from him.

BuffsBeat was briefed by Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris via email about the incident who said, "The investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing." Nothing further was provided by PPD or UCLA athletics. Chip Kelly said he felt 'Awful' for Sanders and the Buffs.

Colorado faces 16th-ranked Oregon State on Saturday night. A 10 p.m.kickoff on ESPN.
