Deion Sanders says, "We're not built for the moment" after Stanford loss

Coach Prime tried not to get emotional after embarrassing loss

Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders took the 46-43 double-overtime loss to Stanford personally while in his post game press conference. After being up 29-0 at halftime, the Cardinal staged a comeback over the Buffs with several unanswered scoring drives.

Sanders said his team wasn't ready for this and hinted at changes.

"Right now, we're not built for the moment," Sanders said. "Some of our players aren't built for the moment where they have to make a play or they have to keep contain or make a block. We're not built for the moment right now."

It was an undisciplined second half for the Buffs that led to Stanford's comeback. A few blown coverages with big plays down the field. Not to mention, Colorado committed 17 penalties for 127 yards on the night. The way CU's defense approached each side of the game was completely day and night.

Sanders kept his composure while being extremely upset with how the game ended. This was unprecedented as he has never experienced this big of a blown lead at any level in his Hall-of-Fame career.

Colorado will use the bye week to figure out where to go from here. A tough final five games going into November will decide the Buffs bowl possibly. It's a tough road ahead, but a challenge Sanders is built for after a rollercoaster ride of a season.
