In this story:

Colorado is shaking off a historically bad night after blowing a 29-point halftime lead against Stanford. The one game everybody thought was going to be a cake walk for Deion Sanders and his crew wasn't as advertised. The Buffs lost 46-43 in double overtime and was the third loss in Sanders' tenure. It was a major upset with the one-win Cardinal being 12.5-point underdogs.

Sanders tried his best to express his dismay in the post game press conference. It was clear to tell this was a letdown and that Colorado will have a lot to work on in the bye week.

“I’m truly upset. I’m truly disturbed,” Sanders said.

Colorado looked unstoppable in the first half and came out with no firepower in the final thirty minutes. This was a Jekyll and Hyde performance for the Buffs with the Cardinal making it look easy.

“We started off the game wonderfully, finally put it together in the first half like we desired,” Sanders said about getting off to a fast start. “You surrender three touchdowns unanswered, close to it which I can’t fathom right now, still trying to wrap my head around it.”

The Buffaloes got outworked mentally and got comfortable not playing from behind. A switch from a majority of the contests this year with CU playing from behind to catch up. Stanford got hot and had nothing to lose. Shedeur Sanders tried to throw on his cape once again, but the magic wasn't there for the Buffs leader.

Colorado couldn't have a bye week at a better time. They'll try to scale back and refocus on the game plan against UCLA. It's going be be interesting to see how Sanders' team responds in the final stretch of the season.
