Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter were featured as part of ESPN’s 2024 Heisman trophy early picks

The Buffaloes standouts have once again drawn national attention to Colorado football. In an ESPN story written by Mark Schlabach, both Sanders and Hunter made the list of the 15 college football players to watch for next year’s race.

Shedeur was a warrior this season with 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions that ended with him missing the finale in Utah with a fractured back. Colorado joins the Big 12 conference in 2024 with a bigger stage for the Buffs QB to stand on. Once Coach Prime assembles a dominant offensive line, Shedeur will be unstoppable. A QB who could easily win the Heisman and claim the number one spot in the 2025 NFL draft.

Travis Hunter has proven himself on both sides of the ball and already claimed the 2023 Paul Hornung award for most versatile player. Offensively, he had 57 catches, 721 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, the standout tackled 30 times and had three interceptions and broke up 5 pass attempts. Great stats after missing three games with a lacerated liver. It was no surprise that Travis would catch the attention of ESPN for this feature story.

This upcoming FBS season will certainly be exciting to watch. Other QB contenders for the 2024 Heisman included stars like Jalen Milroe from Alabama, Quinn Ewers from Texas and Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss. Picks from the other side of the ball were RB OSU Cowboy Ollie Gordon II and RB Tarheel Omarion Hampton. WR Luther Burden III from Missouri, who also made the list.
