ESPN’s Pete Thamel says Travis Hunter is “on track to play tonight”

Will Coach Prime get his star two-way player back after missing nearly four full games?

It appears that Travis Hunter is ready to return the lineup tonight. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Hunter is “on track to play” and his “snap count will be monitored.”

Colorado star Travis Hunter is on track to play tonight against Stanford (ESPN 10 pm). The staff will keep an eye on him pregame, but he remains on target to play on both offense and defense. His snap count will be monitored, as he lasted played in a game on Sept. 16.

Of course, this could all be an elaborate bluff by the Colorado coaching staff. Coach Prime indicated several weeks ago that he would prefer Travis to sit out until the UCLA game. After Stanford, the Buffs have a bye week before traveling to Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, Coach Prime further elaborated on Hunter’s status.

“Travis looks good. Travis is Travis, God don’t make too many of those. He’s most likely going to play. We have got to see how he practices tomorrow…..he practiced both ways yesterday because that’s who he is. He has the protection on his ribs.”

Kickoff between Colorado and Stanford is scheduled for 10:20 p.m. ET. We will keep you updated as soon as we can confirm Travis is in uniform.
