Former Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Keith Miller III passed away in his apartment on Thursday. He was 23.

The Texas A&M University-Commerce team captain spent two seasons with the Buffs from 2020-21. He had 39 receptions for 457 yards and four touchdowns during his two years with the Lions. Miller transferred to TAMC after being part of CU's last postseason bid in the 2020 Alamo Bowl, which resulted in a loss to Texas.

Miller had 1,856 receiving yards during his prep career at The Colony High School outside of Dallas. He was a big target at 6-foot-5, 210-pounds, but failed to work his way into the rotation with Covid being a factor. He dressed for five games but he never saw action for the Buffs.

Colorado Athletics issued a statement saying they were "deeply saddened" to learn of the death of Miller.

"Keith was a member of our football program for two seasons in 2020-21 and in every way imaginable was an outstanding young man in addition to being a beloved father, son, and brother. He will always be a part of the Buffs family and was taken from us way too soon. His family, teammates from both CU and Texas A&M-Commerce, and all those who knew him are in our thoughts."

The tributes for Miller poured in on social media after his untimely passing. One of his former CU teammate, Brenden Rice, paid tribute to his friend with a great picture of them together.

Former Colorado offensive coordinator Darrin Chiaverini, who recruited Miller to Boulder, remembered as a great young man.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Miller family to help with final expenses.
