Vanderbilt's Will Sheppard transfers to Colorado

Buffs add another weapon for Shedeur Sanders

Deion Sanders wanted another offensive playmaker and scored a huge one on Thursday. 

Vanderbilt wide receiver Will Sheppard announced he would be transferring to Colorado. The former commodores standout had 2,067 yards and 21 TDs over the past four years in Nashville. He ended with his third straight season with over 40 receptions and 500 yards. 

An immediate upgrade for the Buffs offense and Sheppard. The former SEC product will be featured as a top go-to option for Shedeur Sanders, who heads into next year as a Heisman favorite. 

The Mandeville, LA native plays his position with extraordinary range at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. A three-sport competitor in high school who participated in football, baseball, and track. Sheppard has used his long jumping skills often while at Vandy. He loves to be physical and use his body to create space. 

An original three-star recruit from Mandeville that was upgraded to a four-star as a transfer. Sheppard becomes the first receiver to join the Buffs, along with several notable offensive lineman with the intention of boosting CU's efforts. He was one of the highest-rated skill players currently available in the portal. 

Sheppard comes to Boulder with a year of eligibility remaining.
