Colorado commit Aaron Butler plans to graduate early and enroll in December

Colorado and Deion Sanders will likely have a major recruit available earlier than expected next year.
Aaron Butler says he'll shut down for the rest of the season and focus on school. This is a calculated effort to graduate from Calabasas High School in December and enroll early at Colorado, according to 247 Sports.
Butler, a highly-touted four-star receiver, committed to Sanders and the Buffaloes as part of the 2024 class. By moving his timeline up he'll be available for off-season conditioning and Spring Ball. He played only four games at CHS this season.
Butler is a speedy option at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds. In fact, he clocks out at roughly 22 MPH on the field. The California prospect is ranked as a top 75 player in both ESPN and 247Sports' rankings. Colorado looks to have Butler in the receiver rotation and will add another weapon for Shedeur Sanders. He's possibly one of the best route runners in the nation and an immediate threat on the field.
Many on the national recruiting side have speculated if Butler would flip to Oregon or Georgia, but he put those rumors to bed on Friday.
“I can’t wait to get there, Colorado is home for me,” Butler told 247 Sports. “There were a lot of reasons why I committed there and really believe in the direction the program is going under coach Deion.
“When I visited for the spring game, you could just tell big things were coming. I see a lot of opportunities to step in play right away and I love the talent that’s coming in with me. I know a lot of people were stressing about the players that were leaving but trust me, there are some dogs coming in and we’re just getting started.”
Butler will be visiting Colorado this weekend to watch the matchup with No. 8 USC.
