Colorado loses three-star recruit Amontrae Bradford to Georgia Tech

The Peach State standout decided to stay close to home without experiencing the Prime Effect
Amontrae Bradford/CU Buffs

In this story:

Deion Sanders didn't get all the recruits on the board after Wednesday's start to the early Signing Day. Amontrae Bradford decided to stay home and commit to Georgia Tech. The three-star defensive end from Statesboro (Georgia) flipped to the Yellow Jackets after being involved with the Buffaloes since mid-summer.

A major win for GT as they get a productive player, who is actually the cousin of CU current commit Kam Mickell. Bradford held 24 offers going into the final stretch of his commitment period with Sanders and the Buffs hoping to pull him in. He's the No. 41 ranked defensive end in the country and 73rd-ranked player in the Peach State, according to 247Sports.

As of Wednesday night, Colorado has five of the eight hard commits signed to the 2024 recruiting class. Five-star top lineman Jordan Seaton remains unsigned, but is still actively talking to Coach Prime and others, according to sources.

The loss of Bradford knocks CU's overall class ranking to 28th overall. We'll see if the Buffs can make up some ground in the next two days. However, all 16 transfers for the programs have signed without hesitation. Six of which that are currently ranked as four-star talents.
