Elite 11 2024 QB Danny O’Neil decommits from Colorado

Danny O’Neil made a strong statement by decommitting from Colorado on Monday. The three-star Nike Elite 11 quarterback from The Cathedral (Ind.) High School was sold on joining the Buffs until recently. He reopens his recruitment weeks before early Signing Day.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder was high on Deion Sanders' list with scholarship offers from the likes of , including from Houston, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Syracuse and West Virginia.
O'Neil has thrown for 7,786 yards with 98 touchdowns and 19 INTs over the past three years at The Cathedral. He reportedly suffered a knee injury in this year's Indiana HS playoffs.
With O'Neil out, Sanders and the Buffs are down another recruit. The three in the past three weeks with blue chips Winston Watkins Jr. and Antwann Hill Jr. decommitting from the program as well. They have no recruits in the 2025 class and are down to a total of ten next year.
Sanders heads into the start of his second year in Boulder, being days away from the transfer portal opening back up.
