In this story:

At one point a few weeks ago, former Utah Valley center Aziz Bandaogo looked like a potential Duke basketball target after he reported interest from the Blue Devils following his entry into the transfer portal.

But there was never any report of an offer to Bandaogo from Jon Scheyer. Perhaps that is due to the question mark surrounding his immediate eligibility, as this is his second time transferring.

Then on Saturday afternoon, the 7-foot, 225-pound WAC Defensive Player of the Year revealed his commitment to Cincinnati.

Aziz Bandaogo, who averaged 11.5 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks last season as a junior and full-time starter, was considered one of the top big men still available in the transfer portal.

Meanwhile, the Duke basketball staff appears all in on landing former Kansas center Ernest Udeh Jr., a 2022 McDonald's All-American who saw limited action for the Jayhawks as a freshman but showed the potential to be a significant weapon in the paint.

Udeh visited the Blue Devils earlier this week, marking his only visit to date. Furthermore, the 247Sports Crystal Ball continues to paint Duke as the frontrunner to reel him in.

The deadline to enter the transfer portal has come and gone. However, that deadline does not apply to graduate transfers, so it's still possible that a new option or two could appear in the coming weeks.

For now, though, Duke's best bet at filling its final roster spot with a center is the 6-foot-11, 250-pound Ernest Udeh Jr.
