Duke basketball: Special jerseys coming out for UNC game

This season, Duke basketball sits at 2-0 in the home "Brotherhood" jerseys.

Duke basketball will don its home version of the "Brotherhood" jerseys — white with the navy gothic script — when the unranked Blue Devils (16-6, 7-4 ACC) host the unranked UNC Tar Heels (15-7, 7-4 ACC) at 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday (ESPN).

While Duke has twice worn the away version against UNC (2022, 2021), resulting in a 1-1 record in Chapel Hill, Saturday will mark the first time the program has rolled out the home version with the rival Tar Heels in town.

But it won't be the first time this season that head coach Jon Scheyer's first group of Blue Devils has rocked the "Brotherhood" look, which debuted in January 2020 as a special-occasion getup to honor all the Duke basketball players over the years.

The team rolled out the home version in its 68-66 home win over Miami on Jan. 21 and its 74-62 victory over Iowa at the Jimmy V Classic in Madison Square on Dec. 6. As for the away "Brotherhood" threads — navy with the white gothic script — Duke has used them only once this season: the 72-64 loss at Clemson on Jan. 14.

UNC and Duke have 50 wins apiece across their past 100 meetings. The Blue Devils, looking to avenge last season's losses to the Tar Heels in Durham and at the Final Four in New Orleans, boast a 46-39 record in the rivalry in the friendly confines of Cameron Indoor Stadium.
