Duke basketball: Voters dump Blue Devils altogether

In this story:
The Duke basketball team no longer deserves AP Top 25 votes. And for the first time this season, the Blue Devils (17-8, 8-6 ACC) didn't receive any.
Duke, reeling from a disappointing week that resulted in an 81-59 loss at Miami and a 69-62 overtime loss at Virginia, is unranked for the fourth straight week. The Blue Devils began Jon Scheyer's first season as head coach at No. 7 in the AP Top 25.
They're now unlikely to see a ranking by their name for the rest of the regular season due to the eight losses they've already recorded.
Only three ACC teams appear in this week's AP Top 25, the same three as last week. Virginia jumped from No. 8 to No. 7, Miami moved up four notches to No. 15, and NC State fell one spot to No. 23.

Meanwhile, Pitt is the only squad from the conference in the "others receiving votes" category. The Panthers, who are tied with Virginia at No. 1 in the ACC standings, effectively sit at No. 29 with the fourth-most votes among unranked teams.
It's worth noting here that Purdue fell from the top spot after losing at Northwestern, under the direction of former Blue Devil Chris Collins, on Sunday.

Duke basketball returns to action against visiting Notre Dame at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday. As Scheyer noted on Monday morning, the Blue Devils may be without the services of freshman star Kyle Filipowski for that contest.
