Duke chosen first in preseason media poll

Duke was chosen by the ACC media as the top team in the preseason poll.

The Blue Devils were chosen for first place on 51 of 111 ballots and were chosen first overall for the fourth consecutive preseason and sixth time in the last seven years.

Duke sophomore point guard Tre Jones was chosen for the Preseason All-ACC Team. His 89 votes received were second most, behind Louisville’s Jordan Nwora.

UNC’s Cole Anthony, Notre Dame’s John Mooney and Virginia’s Mamadi Diakite round out the first team.

Freshman Vernon Carey (below) was chosen for the second team with 19 votes.
