Pair of Injuries Impact Duke Basketball Game at Miami

In this story:
During Monday's ACC teleconference, Jon Scheyer didn't rule out Duke basketball sophomore guard Tyrese Proctor for 7 p.m. ET Wednesday (ESPN) when his No. 8 Blue Devils (20-5, 11-3 ACC), riding a four-game winning streak, play their second of three straight road outings by facing unranked Miami (15-11, 6-9 ACC).

Proctor is a starter when healthy. But the 19-year-old Australian remained in Durham for Saturday's win at Florida State after suffering a concussion in Duke's home victory over Wake Forest on Feb. 12.

Scheyer relayed to the media that Proctor "said he's feeling better." However, the second-year Duke basketball head coach explained there are "steps that need to be made" before he can play.
In other words, they are in "step by step" mode and, as of the latest update, uncertain if he'll be in action against Miami.
Meanwhile, Miami head coach Jim Larranaga told the ACC media on Monday that his team will be without the services of senior guard Nijel Pack. The veteran starter sat out Saturday's road defeat at the hands of Boston College — the Hurricanes' fourth straight loss — while recovering from a lingering knee injury.
Proctor is averaging 10.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and only 1.3 turnovers for the Blue Devils while shooting 35.5 percent from three. Pack has a similarly productive role for the Hurricanes, tallying 13.7 points, 2.6 boards, 3.6 dimes, and 1.9 turnovers per game while shooting 36.4 percent beyond the arc.
Wednesday night's matchup is the first and only one of the regular season between Duke and Miami.
Following the trip, the Blue Devils have two days off before battling Wake Forest in Winston-Salem at 2 p.m. ET Saturday (ESPN).
