Six Duke Recruits Named to Naismith High School Watch List

The Atlanta Tipoff Club has announced the 50 boys players to watch this upcoming high school basketball season for the 2020 Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Trophy for Boys Player of the Year.

Duke has six signed or committed players on the watch list, more than any other school. Kentucky and North Carolina are next with four each.

Duke’s watch-listed players are all in the senior class and will be Blue Devils next season. They include

Forward Jaemyn Brakefield from Huntington Prep in Huntington, WV. He’s a Duke commit expected to sign his letter of intent on Friday.

Forward Henry Coleman III from Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, VA. He signed with Duke on the first day of the fall signing period.

Forward Jalen Johnson from IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. He signed with Duke on the first day of the fall signing period.

Guard Jeremy Roach from Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, VA. He’s a Duke commit expected to sign his letter of intent in the fall signing period.

Guard D.J. Steward from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago. He signed with Duke on the first day of the fall signing period.

Center Mark Williams from IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. He signed with Duke on the first day of the fall signing period.

There are also at least three uncommitted players on the watch list who are being recruited heavily by Duke.

Junior forward Paolo Banchero from O’Dea High School in Seattle, WA. Banchero has taken a junior year official visit to Duke and has the Blue Devils on his list of finalists, which also includes Kentucky, UNC, Memphis, Baylor, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Michigan and Washington.

Junior forward Jonathan Kuminga from The Patrick School in Hillside, NJ has the Blue Devils on his list of ten finalists, along with Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan, Texas Tech and Washington.

Senior center Hunter Dickinson has taken an official visit to Duke and will be choosing between the Blue Devils, Michigan, Florida State and Notre Dame in the near future.
