WATCH: Where are Duke's championships this week?

Duke has entered a season as a defending ACC or bowl champion on 10 occasions. Most recently, this year.

The Blue Devils won ACC titles in 1953, 54, 55, 60, 61 and 62.

They won the Orange Bowl in 1956 and the Cotton Bowl in 1954 and 1960.

Then, after a five and a half decade drought, they won three bowls in the last four years: The 2015 Pinstripe Bowl, 2017 Quick Lane Bowl and 2018 Independence Bowl.

Using the boxing/wrestling/UFC rule of "beat the champ, win the title," we tracked those championships through history to see who currently holds them.

For instance, Duke entered this season with the Independence Bowl title, then lost it to Alabama in the opener. The Crimson Tide hasn’t lost since, so they still hold the title.

They beat South Carolina 47-23 last week and will try to defend it this week against Southern Miss.

The 2017 Quick Lane Bowl title has changed hands several times and is currently held by the national champs. Clemson has the title and defended it against Syracuse last week, 41-6. The Charlotte 49ers will get a shot at it this week in Death Valley.

Every other former Duke title from the 50s, 60s and 2015 has managed to end up with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

They beat Indiana, 51-10, last week to hold onto all the titles and will put them up this week against Miami of Ohio.
