Duke Basketball One-And-Done Lands on NBA Summer League Roster

In this story:
Jabari Parker went No. 2 overall to the Milwaukee Bucks at the 2014 NBA Draft following his one-and-done Duke basketball campaign. He played there for four seasons, marking arguably the best stretch of his pro career, before signing with the Chicago Bulls in 2018 as a free agent.

But now, the 28-year-old Parker, an oft-injured forward who hasn't been on an NBA roster since the Boston Celtics waived him before last season, is reuniting with the franchise that drafted him nine years ago. According to a release on Friday afternoon, he will play for the Bucks' Summer League squad in Las Vegas (July 7-17).

While Jabari Parker reportedly worked out for the Phoenix Suns earlier this week, there's no word on how that went for the former five-star recruit out of Chicago.
One thing's clear: Parker, the 2014 USWBA National Freshman of the Year and ACC Rookie of the Year, looks determined to earn another shot in the league. However, although his career scoring average still sits at 14.1 points per game, he averaged only 4.4 points and 9.3 minutes across his 12 appearances for the 2021-22 Celtics.
The Bucks' Summer League action begins with a matchup against the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets on July 7 at 5 p.m. ET (ESPNU).
Parker is the only Duke basketball product on the franchise's Summer League roster. That said, Milwaukee does have one former Blue Devil on a full-time contract in last season's starting shooting guard, Grayson Allen.

And it's worth noting that the new head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks is Adrian Griffin, the father of recent Duke basketball one-and-done AJ Griffin.
