Only five NBA players in history have knocked down eight or more threes seven times in a season. Duke basketball alum Grayson Allen is the fifth to do so, joining Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, James Harden, and Damian Lillard.

Allen, a full-time starter in his first season with the Phoenix Suns, finished with a game-high 32 points in Wednesday night's 115-102 home win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The 28-year-old guard and 2015 Blue Devil national champ shot 9-for-15 beyond the arc, adding three rebounds, five assists in his 34 minutes on the floor.

It marked the third time this season that Allen has tallied nine 3-point makes, second only to Curry's five such outings.

And it was the fifth time he has scored 20 points or more across the Suns' past eight games. Through 63 appearances this season, the former No. 21 overall draft pick is averaging a career-high 13.7 points, along with 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in his 33.8 minutes per contest.

Meanwhile, Grayson Allen maintains the league's highest 3-point percentage at 48.3, looking to extend the Duke basketball streak to three seasons in this department following fellow NBA Blue Devil guard Luke Kennard's back-to-back crowns. Kennard sits at No. 2 on the list this go-round, shooting 45.4 percent.

The Suns (40-29), tied with the Dallas Mavericks at No. 7 in the Western Conference standings, next host the Atlanta Hawks (30-38) at 10:30 p.m. ET Thursday.
