Trade Puts Two Duke Basketball Products on Same Team

On Sunday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that 2017-18 Duke basketball star Marvin Bagley III is heading to the Washington Wizards as part of their trade with the Detroit Pistons. Along with the 24-year-old big man, the Wizards receive Isaiah Livers and two second-round draft picks in exchange for Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala.

Washington now boasts a pair of NBA Blue Devils in Bagley, the No. 2 overall draft pick in 2018, alongside 2014-15 Duke basketball national champion and No. 24 overall draft pick Tyus Jones, a full-time starting point guard in his first campaign with the Wizards.

Bagley, who was in his third year with the Pistons (3-36), has put up 10.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game this season, averaging 18.4 minutes across his 26 outings.

Meanwhile, Jones has played in all 38 games thus far for the Wizards (7-31), averaging a career-high 12.5 points, 5.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and only 0.9 turnovers in 27.9 minutes per contest. The 27-year-old entered the year as the league leader in assist-to-turnover ratio the past five seasons. His 6.4 mark currently ranks No. 2 this go-round.

Interestingly, the Wizards' next game is against the visiting Pistons at 3 p.m. ET Monday.
