Duke Basketball: Another Charlotte Star on Jon Scheyer's Radar

In this story:
Although several Charlotte natives have become Duke basketball players, it hasn't been much of a hotbed for top-shelf Blue Devils in recent years. Seth Curry and Wendell Moore Jr. are the program's only starters from the Queen City this century.
But second-year head coach Jon Scheyer's most recent commitment came from an in-state 2024 five-star out of the Charlotte area in North Meck small forward Isaiah Evans.
And now, Duke is eyeing a five-star small forward from Charlotte's Myers Park High School in Sadiq White, one of his coaches, Nick Jones, tweeted on Monday.
Duke is the latest to express interest in 6’8 F 25’ @SadiqWhite11 after this weekends Live Period.

The 6-foot-8, 190-pound rising junior ranks No. 21 overall and No. 3 at his position on the 247Sports 2025 Composite. His growing list of reported early offers includes Charlotte and a handful of ACC schools: NC State, Florida State, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
At the Nike Elite One Hundred showcase in St. Louis earlier this month, 247Sports' Adam Finkelstein named White among the standout performers and provided the following brief scouting report:
"Sadiq White is a long and athletic hybrid forward who makes his best impact when he's playing with a high motor. Another bouncy athlete, he's a lob threat and emphatic finisher. The southpaw can slash some and possesses all the requisites to be a disruptive defender."
According to 247Sports, Duke basketball associate head coach Chris Carrawell is heading the Blue Devils' potential pursuit of Sadiq White. However, there's no word of an offer out of Durham yet.
For now, Scheyer and his crew have offers on the table to only four 2025 prospects: Christopher Columbus (Fla.) five-star power forward Cameron Boozer and his twin brother, five-star combo guard Cayden Boozer; Montverde (Fla.) five-star small forward Cooper Flagg; and Lincoln Park (Pa.) five-star point guard Meleek Thomas.
