Duke Basketball: Two-Sport Five-Star Visiting Blue Devils

In this story:
Reidsville (N.C.) sophomore Kendre' Harrison is a five-star tight end. He's a five-star power forward. And he'll be in Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday night when the Duke football team hosts Notre Dame in what could be an all-time recruiting weekend for the Blue Devils.

He announced the visit via the following post:

Although the 6-foot-7, 230-pound athlete hasn't reported an offer from second-year Duke football head coach Mike Elko or second-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer, there's no doubt his skills would be worthy of both. He sits at No. 5 overall on the 247Sports 2026 Composite in football and No. 20 on the 2026 ESPN 25 in hoops.

There's no word on whether Kendre' Harrison plans to play football, basketball, or both at the next level.
But Harrison's football offers vastly outnumber his basketball suitors. The football side includes the likes of Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State, along with several ACC schools in Florida State, Louisville, NC State, UNC, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest, per 247Sports.
It's worth noting that no prospect of his caliber (at least not in ranking) has ever committed to the Duke football program.
Dear Defenders, Good luck tackling @SupremeDre8 of @FBCapitolOfNC😤

Elko and his crew have already extended dozens of offers on the 2026 trail (far too early to expect any verbal commitments). As for Scheyer and his cohorts, their official 2026 wishlist remains blank while they focus most of their attention on completing a potential top-ranked 2024 class and snagging their first 2025 prize.

Regardless of Harrison's exact reasons for being in town this weekend, his attendance certainly adds to the potential image-boosting statement that Duke football would make in notching another epic upset win and improving to 5-0 for the first time since 1994.
