Duke Basketball: Top Five Recruit Reports New Blue Devil Interest

Duke basketball's radar includes almost all of the most impressive 2025 talents.

Three of Duke basketball's four early offers to rising high school juniors are to prospects sitting in the top 10 on the 247Sports 2025 Composite. That includes two phenoms among the top five: Christopher Columbus (Fla.) power forward Cameron Boozer at No. 1 and Montverde (Fla.) small forward Cooper Flagg at No. 2.

Holy Innocents Episcopal (Ga.) power forward Caleb Wilson, up three spots since early June to No. 5 overall, now looks like one of the candidates to be the next Blue Devil offer recipient in the class.

Within the past two months, the 6-foot-9, 195-pound dynamic five-star has landed on the official wishlists of fellow bluebloods UNC and Kentucky. And while starring for Georgia Stars at this week's Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., Wilson listed Duke as an interested party during his chats with Hitmen Hoops Scouting and others.

Speaking of his time at Peach Jam — his Georgia Stars squad is in the Peach Invitation Tournament for Nike EYBL teams that didn't qualify for a chance to win the Peach Jam title — Caleb Wilson has filled up box scores with his powerful repertoire and exceptional instincts that pay off on both ends of the floor.

Wilson is averaging 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 2.0 steals through his first three outings. Although he's shooting only 39.1 percent from the field and 2-for-8 from three, he has at least partly made up for that with his 18-for-20 clip at the charity stripe.

Furthermore, consider Wilson's competition consists of mainly 2024 prospects.

Meanwhile, it's worth pointing out that Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer watched the heralded recruit at least once before: when he scored 20 points in a game at the first Nike EYBL session this year in Atlanta.

Look for Scheyer and his crew to possibly check out Caleb Wilson in action on Thursday, the first day that college coaches can attend the annual premier prep hoops event.

His Georgia Stars face Mac Irvine Fire on Court 2 of the Riverview Activities Center at 9 a.m. ET. Fans can live stream the games for free from the Nike EYBL site.
