Duke Basketball: Another Five-Star Guard on Blue Devil Watchlist

The Duke basketball recruiters appear to like the deep crop of 2025 guards.

Fishers (Ind.) combo guard Jalen Haralson, No. 9 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has reported interest from the Duke basketball staff since September. And in more recent chats with Stock Risers' Jake Weingarten and others, the 6-foot-7, 205-pound five-star has suggested the Blue Devils might be ramping up efforts.

"Coach [Jon] Scheyer is really impressed with my ball skills and competitive nature," the crafty talent informed Weingarten this weekend while in Colorado competing for a spot on the 12-man USA Basketball U16 National Team roster (down to 18 finalists). "They recruit winners at Duke, and he made it known I was a priority for them."

Haralson has not received a Duke basketball offer. But perhaps that will soon change.

After all, as On3's Jamie Shaw noted on Sunday, he's impressed pro scouts in Colorado:

"Jalen Haralson is a known commodity...As a 6-foot-7 wing, we knew coming in he could score in a variety of ways. In this training camp setting, Haralson was able to do so much more...His versatility played a major asset in his teams winning a lot of reps throughout the training camp. It also showed a side of Haralson I had not seen prior. He also caught the eye of the NBA personnel in attendance. A lot of positivity throughout each session."

Meanwhile, Haralson told Weingarten that the Blue Devils are now among those most involved in his recruitment, along with Auburn, Gonzaga, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue, and UConn. He added that "every school that's heavily in touch" with him "has had a conversation about an official visit."

Members of the 2025 class cannot begin taking official visits until August.

Duke basketball's 2025 offer sheet remains only four deep, including two backcourt prospects in five-star point guard Meleek Thomas and four-star combo guard Cayden Boozer. The other two official targets are five-star forwards Cameron Boozer and Cooper Flagg — the top two players in the class.
