In this story:

For some reason, ESPN ranks Jackson McAndrew only No. 29 among 2024 power forwards and outside the top 100 overall. And Rivals doesn't rank him at all. As a result, the new Duke basketball recruiting prospect — No. 47 in On3's opinion and No. 88 at 247Sports — sits at No. 168 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.

That ranking should undergo a significant bump in the coming weeks, along with the mere three-star composite rating by the 6-foot-9, 210-pound stretch-four's name.

After all, through five games at this week's talent-packed Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., McAndrew has averaged 20.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.0 steals while shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Over half of his attempts have come from downtown, where he's knocking down 37.5 percent as a volume 3-point threat.

Judging by Jackson McAndrew's chat with 247Sports' Travis Branham this week, the Duke basketball staff may have foreseen him putting on a show at Peach Jam.

"I heard from [assistant coach Jai Lucas] from Duke like a week and a half ago," he told Branham about the recent interest from the Blue Devils. "I also heard from coaches that they'd be coming this week. They were just meeting and saying hi and stuff like that."

McAndrew, who attends Wayzata High School (Minn.) and whose skill set resembles former Duke basketball bucket-getter and fellow Minnesota native Matthew Hurt, already boasts roughly a dozen offers.

Thus far, he's visited Notre Dame, Xavier, and Creighton. No bluebloods are on his offer sheet.

Not yet, anyway.

Meanwhile, Duke's two 2024 commits, North Meck (N.C.) five-star small forward Isaiah Evans and Paul VI Catholic (Va.) four-star small forward Darren Harris, are among the nation's most heralded shooters.
