Duke basketball has recently encountered heightened competition in the Boozer twins' recruitment.

Last week, Kentucky head coach John Calipari entered the fray for Christopher Columbus (Fla.) power forward Cameron Boozer and combo guard Cayden Boozer, who landed offers from the Blue Devils last May and are the sons of 2001 Duke basketball national champ and two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.

Then on Sunday evening, the heralded 2025 duo revealed offers from UNC head coach Hubert Davis.

So it looks as though Duke's fellow bluebloods and primary recruiting rivals don't view Jon Scheyer and his gang as a lock to land the top-shelf Boozer talents, despite their father's allegiance to "The Brotherhood" and the fact that Cameron Boozer was named after the program's Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Cameron Boozer, a beyond-his-years five-star who sits atop the 247Sports 2025 Composite, now boasts almost a dozen offers. And Cayden Boozer, a four-star prospect who ranks No. 31 overall among high school sophomores, has nearly the identical offer sheet.

For now, the assumption among fans and insiders seems to be that they'll choose the same destination. They've each talked about that possibility frequently. And it would make sense, given their prowess and apparent enjoyment thus far in being teammates all their lives.

But as they've both noted, there's no guarantee of that.

A commitment from either could be a year or more away. With that in mind, it's certainly conceivable that one will be drawn to a school that the other doesn't like as much when they presumably begin taking official visits as juniors.

However, it would come as quite a shock — albeit providing a highly intriguing storyline — if one ended up with the Blue Devils while the other played for the rival Tar Heels eight miles down Tobacco Road.

At this relatively early stage in the 2025 recruiting arena, the Boozer twins account for half of the Duke basketball targets (no Blue Devil commits to date). The other two are Montverde (Fla.) five-star small forward Cooper Flagg and Lincoln Park (Pa.) five-star point guard Meleek Thomas, who rank No. 2 and No. 6 overall, respectively.
