Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer wasted no time entering the recruitment of Cameron and Cayden Boozer, the five-star twin sons of 2001 Blue Devil national champion and two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer. They landed an offer from Duke in May 2022, roughly six months before Scheyer's first season as head coach began.

Now, chances are Duke will remain alive in its pursuit of the Columbus High School (Fla.) juniors for many months to come.

However, outside of the fact that their father is Blue Devil royalty and they took an official visit to Durham in November alongside their Duke alum mother, there's no concrete evidence to view Scheyer and his gang as the outright frontrunner for their celebrated services.

In a recent chat with Rivals' Krysten Peek, Cayden Boozer confirmed as much. That said, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard, No. 14 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, touched on his takeaways from the Duke visit and certainly didn't rule out the Blue Devils as a full-fledged contender.

"It was a great visit," the 16-year-old told Peek. "They played Arizona when I went there. It was just a great atmosphere. Obviously, I'm not a lock to go anywhere. But it was a great visit, and I have nothing bad to say about it."

He's also not a lock to go wherever Cameron Boozer, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward boasting the No. 2 composite ranking in the cycle, decides to play in college before potentially becoming a one-and-done lottery pick.

"We're not a package deal," Cayden Boozer explained to Peek, echoing what his brother has noted on several occasions. "If we can play together, if the playing style matches both of us, obviously, that is something that we would definitely consider.

"I'm still looking at schools as an individual. If we could play together, that would be great. But we're definitely not a package deal."

Their offer sheets still contain fewer than a dozen schools, per 247Sports. The programs that have joined the fray, though, include bluebloods Kentucky, UNC, and, of course, Duke, along with hometown hopeful and longtime suitor Miami.

Thus far, Duke, Kentucky, Miami, and Florida are the only ones to have hosted them for official visits. And the Boozer twins haven't announced a definitive timeline for their decisions or any plans to check out other programs.

Meanwhile, the Duke basketball staff has targeted but not yet landed six other 2025 talents, all of the five-star variety.
