Behind the Face Mask: FSU Football's Jordan Travis Breaks Down ACC Championship Season Film
Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis has had an interesting career at FSU since he transferred from Louisville in 2019 under then-head coach Willie Taggart. He served in a backup role to James Blackman, shared snaps with McKenzie Milton, and eventually helped lead the Seminoles to an undefeated regular season while finishing as a Heisman finalist even after missing three games with an injury.
There was a lot of work put in by Travis and the rest of the team to make it to the ACC Championship Title Game and eventually win it against Louisville 16-6. Although Travis' injury ultimately and unconventionally left the 'Noles out of the College Football Playoff, there is nothing you can take away from the 2023 Seminole team's performance and effort.
So what was going through Travis' mind when he was breaking nearly every record in the FSU quarterback history books? The veteran signal-caller sat down with Bootleg Football to discuss his 2,912-yard and 27-touchdown season to break down the film.
From being a backup to the leader of one of the most explosive offenses in the country, Travis has certainly shown that he can perform at the next level.
"If I pull a guy to the side, I feel like it means a little bit more than a guy who's trying to be somebody different - call you out in front of everybody," Travis said. "I feel like that's where I've grown the most as a person and as a leader for sure."
Travis and his 11 other teammates were recently at the 2024 NFL Combine and their names could be called during the upcoming draft on April 25-27.
