There's a lot of hype surrounding Florida State this offseason after the program's first ten-win campaign since 2016.

One way or another, we'll know exactly where the Seminoles stand very early in the year. The first month will be a major test for the team, who will have to play a rematch against LSU in Orlando, a home game six days later against Southern Miss, and back-to-back road trips at Boston College and at Clemson to conclude September.
It all begins with the second chapter of what will be one of the most highly-anticipated games of college football's opening weekend. Last season, the Seminoles escaped with a 24-23 victory after blocking an extra point on the final play of the game.
In early odds that have been released by FanDuel, Florida State is regarded as a one-point favorite (-110) over the Tigers. It's only fitting after the way this one ended a season ago.
Florida State and LSU are expected to enter 2023 as two of the top teams in the country. It's entirely possible that we'll have a top-10 matchup on our hands when the Seminoles and Tigers take the field in Orlando ahead of Labor Day.
Last season, FSU built a 17-3 lead late in the third quarter before LSU came rolling back in the final frame. Following a touchdown on the final play of regulation, Shyheim Brown saved the Seminoles with a massive play on special teams.
Quarterback Jordan Travis completed 20/33 passes for 260 yards with two touchdowns while adding 31 yards with his legs. Ontaria Wilson caught seven passes for 102 yards and two scores, including a flea-flicker in the first half. This was the coming out party for Jared Verse, who recorded three tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a blocked field goal.
The Seminoles are bringing back a ton of experience alongside one of the top transfer classes in the country. LSU will also return plenty of talent, including quarterback Jayden Daniels, tight end Mason Taylor, and linebacker Harold Perkins, among others.
Florida State and LSU will kick off on Sunday, September 3 from Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Coincidentally, both programs concluded their 2022-23 seasons at the stadium.
The Seminoles defeated Oklahoma 35-32 in the Cheez-It Bowl while the Tigers blew out Purdue 63-7 in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.
