From 1987 to 2000, Florida State was dominant in college football. In each of those years, the Seminoles finished their season ranked top-four. That’s fourteen straight seasons finishing as a top-four team in the nation.
The Seminoles’ dominant run continued, too. From 1977 to 2017, the program completed winning seasons. They went 41 seasons earning themselves a winning record. In that span, from 2012 to 2014, the team won 29 straight games.
Long story short, the Seminoles have a rich history of being a winning program, and oftentimes find themselves amongst the top 25 teams in the nation. Having been ranked for the 15th most time amongst all college football teams proves that point further, too.
In their dominant history, while racking up three national championships, Florida State has produced three Heisman winners, those being Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke and Jameis Winston.
Now, the Seminoles look to return to that longstanding success under head coach Mike Norvell and a potential Heisman candidate in Jordan Travis. They’ll continue to utilize their run-heavy offense using a variety of running backs to piggyback off an incredible, momentum-building season.
