Florida State Head Coach Mike Norvell Recaps First Day of Fall Camp

The Florida State Seminoles kicked off their first practice of fall camp on Thursday inside the Dunlap Practice Facility in Tallahassee, FL. Overall the energy was high, and many new faces made it to the practice fields officially for the first time.

Although they didn't practice in pads, the intensity was there as the offense and defensive secondary battled for most of the day.

“The guys brought good energy. It should be absolutely expected. I thought guys worked to fly around.” Norvell said to the media after practice. "There are a lot of things when you're not in pads you gotta have a mission of what you're looking to accomplish. It's communication, alignment, making sure you taking the proper first steps."

Freshman defensive back Edwin Joseph had a good practice and when asked about his performance, Norvell praised the young DB by saying that he had "A great skillset." He made multiple big time plays on the ball and showed good coverage against some of the more veteran receivers.

Another new face was transfer wide receiver Keon Coleman who showed his value early on in one on ones. When asked about having him on the team Norvell gave a quick response, "I'm glad we have him," and smiled.

The Seminoles have two more practices until their first break on August 6 and will resume camp on August 7.
