The Seminoles were flying around on defense in October as they limited their final three opponents of the month to under 300 yards of total offense. That included a season-low 210 yards allowed against Wake Forest as Florida State racked up five sacks and ten tackles for loss.

To put it in comparison, FSU covered the spread on the road despite being called for nine penalties that resulted in 115 yards. The Demon Deacons only finished with 82 passing yards. For those counting, it's also the third straight game where the defense has held the opposing offense under 100 passing yards.

Opening odds were released for Week 10 games around college football on Sunday afternoon. According to Circa Sports, Florida State opened as a 22-point favorite against Pittsburgh. The Over/Under is set at 47.5 points, predicting roughly a 35-12.5 victory for the Seminoles over the Panthers.

This is the fifth straight where FSU has opened as a double-digit favorite. The Seminoles were 25-point favorites against Virginia Tech, 20-point favorites against Syracuse, 14.5-point favorites against Duke, and 21-point favorites against Wake Forest. The program covered the spread in each of the last three weeks.

FSU has won 14 straight games dating back to last season, the third-longest winning streak in the nation. The Seminoles have scored at least 30 points in every contest throughout the entirety of the stretch.

Pittsburgh is 2-6 and one more defeat will eliminate the Panthers from bowl contention. The program has dropped six of its last seven games but still has the ability to rise from the grave, evidenced by a double-digit victory against then-undefeated Louisville.

The Panthers have turned to Penn State transfer and redshirt sophomore quarterback Christian Veilleux after benching Phil Jurkovic. Veilleux has completed 54/96 passes for 629 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions over the last three games. He threw four interceptions in the 58-7 defeat to Notre Dame over the weekend.

Florida State and Pittsburgh will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 4. The game will be televised on ESPN.
