Florida State is 5-0 for the first time in eight years after taking down Virginia Tech, 39-17, inside Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles have yet to play their best game so far in 2023 but remain undefeated and are winners of 11 straight games dating back to last season.

On Sunday afternoon, the weekly Associated Press Top 25 Poll was released. Florida State moved up to No. 4 in the country following Texas' defeat against Oklahoma. This is the first time that the Seminoles have gained a spot in the polls since Week 2. The team was voted at No. 4 in the Coaches Poll as well. The complete AP Top 25 Poll can be viewed here.

Taking a glance at the remainder of the poll, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State are the only teams ranked higher than the Seminoles. FSU only received one first-place vote this week.

As of now, Florida State has two ranked teams remaining on its schedule; Duke (17) and Miami (25). The Hurricanes nearly fell out of the polls following a shocking upset loss to Georgia Tech at home. The Seminoles remain the highest-ranked team in the ACC for the seventh consecutive week to begin the season. North Carolina (12), Louisville (14), the Blue Devils, and the Hurricanes are the only other programs in the conference that are currently ranked.

The Seminoles are the only team in the state of Florida to be selected inside the top 10. They are also the last team in the Sunshine State to be undefeated after Mario Cristobal's all-time coaching blunder.

Florida State returns to Doak Campbell Stadium for the second consecutive week in an ACC matchup against Syracuse on Saturday, October 14. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on ABC.
