Former Florida State Defensive Lineman Picks Up Trio Of Offers Since Entering NCAA Transfer Portal

The former Seminole has earned interest from multiple FBS teams since deciding to move on from Tallahassee.

There have already been a couple of former members of Florida State's roster who have committed to other programs and plenty of others that are picking up interest.

On Thursday evening, former Seminole defensive tackle Ayobami Tifase reported on social media that he had picked up an offer from Wisconsin. The Badgers are at least the third team to extend him a scholarship since he entered the portal last week. Tifase has previously claimed offers from Virginia Tech and Charlotte.

The redshirt freshman was in Charlotte over the weekend for a multiday official visit to check out the 49ers. It's unclear if he's planning a trip to another program for this week. The Hokies would be an interesting landing spot as they were involved in Tifase's high school recruitment, finishing as the runner-up to Florida State alongside Arkansas and UConn.

Tifase earned limited snaps in three games during the 2023 season. He made his lone tackle of the year in FSU's win against Syracuse in October. Tifase was only on the field for 20 total snaps. He was ineligible to play the previous season after reclassifying to be a member of the 2022 class.

Florida State certainly could've used his services next year as the team is currently only slated to return four scholarship defensive tackles; junior Darrell Jackson, redshirt sophomore Joshua Farmer, redshirt freshman Daniel Lyons, and true freshman KJ Sampson. The coaching staff is going to have to hit the portal to replenish the depth of its defensive front.

Outside of Ayobami, the Seminoles have seen running back quarterback AJ Duffy, Rodney Hill, running back CJ Campbell, tight end Markeston Douglas, tight end Preston Daniel, offensive lineman Bless Harris, offensive lineman Thomas Schrader, offensive lineman Daughtry Richardson, offensive lineman Qae'shon Sapp, defensive tackle Malcolm Ray, linebacker DJ Lundy, linebacker Dylan Brown-Turner, and kicker Tyler Keltner enter the portal since the conclusion of the regular season and ACC Championship.

Star defensive end Patrick Payton previously declared his intentions to do so but removed the references on social media and never officially appeared in the database.
