Entering the 2023 season, Florida State has never matched up with an opponent outside of the United States. That is expected to change in the very near future.

According to Noles247's Chris Nee, the Seminoles will kick off their 2024 season abroad against an ACC opponent. Florida State will open the season in week zero against Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland. The game will be held at Aviva Stadium as part of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.

In recent years, the Aer Lingus College Football Classic has played host to games such as Boston College-Georgia Tech (2016) and Nebraska-Northwestern (2022). Currently, Notre Dame and Navy are anticipated to open their 2023 campaigns in Ireland, the latest installment of the college football classic.

Prior to this report, the Seminoles were expected to travel to Atlanta to match up with Georgia Tech on the road. Instead, this will be considered a neutral site game and as in 2022, Florida State will benefit from two BYE weeks during the season rather than just one.

Dates that are known on Florida State's 2024 schedule include a home game against Memphis on September 24. The Seminoles will travel to Notre Dame on November 9 before wrapping up the regular season at home with back-to-back games against Charleston Southern on November 23 and Florida on November 30.

The Seminoles already know their conference schedule but have yet to learn the respective dates for each game. FSU will play ACC home games against Boston College, Clemson, North Carolina, and NC State. The Seminoles will travel to Miami, Syracuse, and Virginia while matching up with the Yellow Jackets at a neutral site.

Georgia Tech finished the 2022 season 5-7 and promoted Brent Key to head coach. Florida State defeated the Yellow Jackets 41-16 at the end of October.
