The Florida State Seminoles are playing a tightly-contested matchup against Miami but have found a little breathing room.

The Florida State Seminoles entered their matchup against the Miami Hurricanes as a two-touchdown favorite. Still, it wouldn't be that easy playing a rivalry game, especially one with this much bitterness. The Hurricanes played the Seminoles incredibly well for the first half.

Midway through the third quarter, both teams were squared off at 13-point apiece. Typically in this scenario, Trey Benson would break away for a long touchdown to give the team much-needed separation.

Well, that's exactly what happened in this one. Benson scored a 38-yard rushing touchdown as he got into the end zone for the second time in this game.

With the score, Benson got his stat line up to 65 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. He continues to be a closer for the Seminoles, and it's hard to imagine his big presence is done showing up in this one.

If the defense can stand tall, the offense has a chance to build even more separation from the Hurricanes. With a 20-13 lead over the Hurricanes, the Seminoles can be quite dangerous as they build a lead.

This would be a big win for the playoff-hopeful Seminoles, as they've essentially got to win out if they want to make the top 4. Again, playing their rivals at home is no task, and showing their ability to pull through in big moments and play through adversity is incredible and a confidence booster.

If Benson gets rolling, the Seminoles will be able to protect their lead much, much easier in this one, too.
