FSU Basketball Transfer Commits to Fellow ACC School

The former Seminole will be suiting up against Florida State next season.

Florida State transfer forward Cam Corhen has committed to ACC rival Pittsburgh, per Joe Tipton of On3Sports. Corhen is fresh off a visit to the Panthers over the weekend and decided one visit was enough and shut down his transfer recruitment. They had been the main team mentioned with him from the moment it was announced he planned on entering the transfer portal.

One of FSU's conference games for the 2024-25 season will be a home matchup against Pittsburgh. That means fans will have a chance to let Corhen know how they feel about his decision - much like what happened with Matthew Cleveland last year.

Cam Corhen is a former 4-star prospect from Allen, Texas, and Sunrise Christian Academy who started 33 games and appeared in 60, averaging 8.8 PPG and 3.7 RPG in two seasons in Tallahassee. He's a very talented offensive big man and entered the portal looking for a better scheme fit.

This is a change of pace for Pitt, who went with the lanky big man route this past season with the Diaz Graham twins and Federiko Federiko, and will now employ Corhen's offensive talents. They had John Hugley IV in that role a few seasons ago when he averaged 14.8 PPG as a sophomore and they're hoping Corhen can provide something similar.

Corhen is the third former FSU player to transfer to an ACC school in the last two offseasons, with Matthew Cleveland transferring to Miami and Naheem McLeod transferring to Syracuse last season. With De'Ante Green visiting Boston College and USF, another one could be added to that number soon.

Florida State had five scholarship players enter the transfer portal this offseason and have yet to receive any new commitments, though there will be transfers on campus next weekend in Hampton's Jerry Deng and UC-San Diego's Bryce Pope. They'll also be hosting Indiana State commit Christian Nitu on a visit this week while in the battle for former Michigan signee Khani Rooths.
