The Seminoles hosted recruits throughout the past weekend on what were the final few days before an NCAA-mandated dead period went into place for the entirety of February.

Three-star offensive tackle Nyier Daniels dropped by Tallahassee on Sunday after spending the previous day in Gainesville. He was able to get somewhat of a feel for the campus while hanging around the coaching staff on his first-ever visit to Florida State.

In his words, the visit "definitely" met his expectations coming in and even surpassed them.

"It was a great experience, stuff like that," Daniels said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis. "Got to see what they're about, what they talk about."

The Seminoles recently offered Daniels on January 12. His recruitment is beginning to build as Michigan, Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, and Michigan State have been showing him interest.

"It means a lot because I put in a lot of effort, a lot of effort into my time and stuff," Daniels said. "This is what my passion is and it's paying out. Trust in the process."

The New Jersey native got an opportunity to meet with offensive line coach Alex Atkins. He was also escorted around the facility by senior offensive analyst Gabe Fertitta and graduate assistant Cooper Williams. Daniels wants to come back for another trip to watch Atkins work with his unit.

"He's a really cool dude," Daniels said. "I ain't get to see him coach yet so I might take another visit to see that and they get down to it."

The coaching staff at Florida State has kept it real with Daniels during their talks. Head coach Mike Norvell didn't sugarcoat things during their conversation on the visit.

"You know, they're real people. People are going to tell you what you want to hear, when I sat with the head coach he told me the stuff I didn't want to hear. That's what I expected since that's what reality is."

Daniels isn't ready to talk about leaders in his recruitment at this time. He's still ironing out a timeline for a potential decision.

"I'm not really ranking nobody right now," Daniels said. "I'm just enjoying my time, using my time to look around. I've still got a bunch of time before this commitment."

The 6-foot-7, 340-pound offensive tackle is regarded as the No. 61 OT and the No. 14 prospect in the state of New Jersey in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
