Florida State offers sizable OT Raynor Andrews during Junior Day

In this story:
The Seminoles hosted Junior Days throughout the month of January to evaluate talent in-person, further relationships, and extend scholarship offers.
On Saturday, rising senior Raynor Andrews visited Florida State and ended up earning an offer. Outside of the Seminoles, Syracuse, Colorado, Rutgers, UCF, Toledo, and Akron have all joined his recruitment over the last couple of weeks.
Head coach Mike Norvell extended the opportunity during a meeting with Andrews.
"It was great to get to the offer just to know all the hard work is paying off," Andrews said to NoleGameday's Dustin Lewis.
"He just kept it 100 with me and he told me what he tells everyone, it's going to be hard," Andrews continued. "So he told me that he was offering me a scholarship and that I've just got to continue to work hard and do what I do."
While earning the offer was the highlight of the trip, Andrews was able to tour the campus and sit down with offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins as well. Andrews liked the way that Atkins teaches.
"I liked the school and coming here, visiting today, talking with coach Atkins," Andrews said. "He showed me a lot, I like his process of teaching and learning. He just showed me how he breaks down his playbook and how he teaches linemen. It's different from anything else I've heard."
The south Florida native has a previous relationship with current Florida State offensive lineman, Daughtry Richardson. The redshirt freshman was able to provide Andrews with a different perspective than the coaching staff.
"It was good," Andrews said. "I was just asking him questions, how it is, since he just came here. That's my dog."
The Seminoles are projecting Andrews as a tackle at the college level. In his short time speaking with Florida State's coaching staff, the energy and realness has stood out. He feels good about the program early in his recruitment, which looks like it'll continue to build.
"I just like the environment. I can feel the energy from the coaches and staff. I just like how they're keeping it 100 with me and they're telling me it's going to be hard and I've gotta do what I'm gonna do. Once I come here, practice hard, I'm going to play."
It's too early for Andrews to name a leader at this time. He plans to return to Florida State at some point.
The 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive tackle has not yet been ranked in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
