Florida State is on the road this weekend as the program opens up its slate of ACC games against Boston College. The Seminoles were able to host multiple recruits during their home opener in Tallahassee last week. However, one prospect who didn't make the trip that was originally expected to be in town was five-star safety KJ Bolden.

Bolden has been committed to Florida State since the beginning of August and was in the stands in Orlando alongside fellow five-star defensive back Charles Lester III to watch the Seminoles take down the Tigers. However, he's been open about his plans to visit other schools leading up to the Early Signing Period in December.

That will begin this weekend as Bolden has scheduled his first trip to another program since his pledge to the Seminoles. The top prospect informed NoleGameday earlier this week that he'll be unofficially visiting Georgia this weekend to watch the game against South Carolina.

The Bulldogs were one of the finalists during Bolden's original decision and have continued to put pressure on him. He's also anticipated to officially visit Auburn next month.

Should the Seminoles be worried at this point? Probably not since Bolden was always clear about how he would approach the process despite being committed to a program. The good thing for Florida State is that he'll be in town multiple times before he puts pen to paper.

Bolden hasn't even taken his official visit to FSU yet. That trip is scheduled for the Seminoles' rivalry game against Miami on the weekend of November 11. However, it wouldn't be a surprise to see if the coaching staff tries to delay that visit until closer to December. Regardless, he'll be in the stands when the Seminoles take on the Hurricanes.

It also helps that Bolden has developed a tight relationship with defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. Florida State's defensive backfield is making strides under his tutelage and showing the potential of what they can be with more talent in the arsenal.

"Our bond is real tight. Their recruiting pitch is like real. Like some schools they'll recruit you and be fake with it and tell you stuff you want to hear even though it's not true," Bolden said to NoleGameday previously. "Coach Surtain, his recruiting pitch is definitely real. He's going to keep it real with you and he's been in the NFL. He knows a lot about the game, he can teach you a lot. He taught me a lot of new things over the week so that's definitely my guy for sure."

Florida State holds 21 verbal commitments in its 2024 class which ranks No. 6 in the country.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete is regarded as the No. 7 overall prospect, the No. 1 S, and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Georgia in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
